SPORT BIKES 2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000

This sport bike from Suzuki’s GSX-R series of motorcycle first set new superbike standards in 2001 to replace the GSX-R1100. It is powered by a liquid-cooled 999 cc inline four-cylinder, four-stroke engine. The 2005 model has a redesigned engine and chassis. It is lighter than the previous model by 4.4 lb, and the engine had an 11 cc larger piston displacement. The new frame reduced the total length of the bike by 1.6 in, but the wheelbase was only reduced by 0.02 in to increase agility. This model weighs in at a mere 365 lbs dry, putting it towards the top of the power-to-weight ratio charts. The result is that the Suzuki GSX-R1000 boasts fantastically sharp steering and flick-ability without any significant trade off in stability.  The brakes also have radial mounted calipers and 310 mm discs at the front. It is also designed to reduce turbulence with the help of the titanium silencer. The vertically stacked headlights don’t only look great but also allow for a better charging efficiency through intake design as the SRAD ram-air system can be located closer to the highest point of pressure. Both headlights are multi-reflector type, and the top light is low-beam or bottom light high beam. LED rear taillights and a reshaped rear end have given it a more modern look from behind. The Suzuki GSX-R1000 is standard fare, early 21st-century superbike. The neat alloy controls are dainty but comprehensive. Its sublime, lithe ergonomics and handling, radical styling and full-on usable power keep this model’s dominance in the world of superbikes.
